Queen of Heaven Monastery for Sale

    We Byzantine Benedictine Sisters at Queen of Heaven Monastery have been discerning for several years the future of our community.  Our numbers are diminishing and we have not received any new candidates for some time.

     During the past six years, along with our own meetings and processes, we have engaged facilitators and analysis experts to help us determine our options.  We have dialogued with several other religious communities.  All along, the Holy Spirit has been guiding us.  We pray daily to know God’s will for us.

     Our beautiful monastery on Squires Lane in Warren is too large for the sisters.  It is no longer cost-efficient for us to live there.  As vowed religious, we want to be good stewards of the land and buildings we own.  Therefore one decision we have made is to downsize.  We plan to sell the monastery and property and move to a smaller facility in the Warren, Ohio area.

     It will take a few years to accomplish the move, but we will keep our Byzantine identity and continue to serve the Church and the people of God.

     We thank all our friends and benefactors for their help and generosity to us over the years.  We hope for their continued presence as we begin this new phase in our lives.  “God is with us!”
